World Micro, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is a twelve-year-old company with an established reputation nationwide for unparalleled service with many OEMs and Contract Manufacturers of electronic equipment. We work on a regular basis with customers such as Lockheed, Northrop Grumman, Scientific Atlanta, Lucent, Solectron, Flextronics, Celestica, Plexus, and hundreds of OEMs and CMs, with applications in military, commercial, medical, and industrial.
Two Brothers, Dan and Chris Ellsworth, started World Micro with a commitment to provide a level of service in the electronics industry that is consistent with the famous term "True Southern Hospitality". Over the last several years many of the larger Franchised Distributors (Franchise) have grown through acquisitions. This has caused a tremendous degradation of service capabilities due to much effort devoted to assimilating these acquisitions. After the industry downturn that started in 2001 much of Franchise's time was devoted to reducing expenses and massive layoffs, leaving a huge gulf in what true customer service, and value-added services, really should be. World Micro has focused on offering services that bring true value to our customers. This has enabled us to grow on average 30% a year since our inception. Our approach, the "Hybrid Model", is unique in that it improves the way we help Purchasing and Engineering Departments "Source" Electronic Components and Off-The-Shelf Technology products worldwide.
