World Micro's Supplier development strategic initiative includes a unique program focused on bringing “End of Life Solutions" to Electronic Component and board level Manufacturers (OEM Suppliers) and their customers. Focus would be different than Rochester Electronics, a distributor who actually manufactures select OEM Suppliers' products for years, and provides some stocking of EOL parts for their 57 OEM Suppliers.
World Micro's focus is on ways to help any OEM Supplier solve their customers EOL issues by offering customized solutions. These would include:
|
 |
- Custom stocking solutions for one or all customers of an EOL Part
- Last-time purchase options
- Consignment programs
- Online tools to research and purchase parts
|
- Outright purchases of EOL remaining product from the OEM Supplier
- Possible cross options
- New Design Win product focus
|
|
A primary objective would be to facilitate the OEM Suppliers continued design wins on all future projects, which
failure at the EOL stage often results in the customer turning to another supplier. |
Key Reasons For Success:
- Focus on Core: World Micro is a leader in providing customized solutions with leading Tier 1, 2, and 3 OEMs and CMs worldwide.
- Brings Solutions and Value: to a real need that OEM Suppliers have with their customers when they EOL a product, one in which other Distributors do not satisfy. No other company adequately serves the needs of both suppliers and customers at the critical EOL stage of the product life cycle
- Limited Competition: Rochester Electronics is the only Distributor who has marketed themselves as “The Ultimate Aftermarket Solution for Semiconductors” for only 40 Manufacturers' Product lines. Main focus - continued manufacturing of ICs and stocking limited number of parts, and not on solving real issues faced by both OEM Suppliers and customers.
