In 1995 World Micro, Inc., an electronics distributor, was started by two brothers living in two states and working mulitple jobs. In the first two years they were successful in laying a strong foundation that enabled a growth rate averaging thirty percent a year over the next 14 years. World Micro now has over fifty employees and continues to expand from a regionally focused distributor, to a valued supplier to many of the largest manufacturers in the world. Financially the company is very strong enjoying a tremendous cash and credit position, and is debt free.

After attending Western Carolina University in the early 1990's, Dan moved to Clearwater, Florida to start a career in the brokerage business. During the next decade, he spent many years working with Raymond James & Associates as an Investment Advisor. Dan was responsible for the active management of assets, diversification classes, establishment of new accounts and the development of prospecting tools.
While in the brokerage business, he learned many of the skills and disciplines that help him lead a team of people today.
In 1995, he co-founded World Micro and the business was subsequently moved from Florida to Georgia. Dan has provided clear leadership as President & CEO and directly manages all financials aspects of the business. In addition to legal, regulatory, and accounting, Dan also oversees the trading and management of all excess materials.
Dan resides in Atlanta and has been happily married for 9 years to his wife, Terri and they have two children.

Todd Ballew brings a rich and diverse background in management and sales. Prior to joining World Micro in 2007, Mr. Ballew was President of a national consultancy firm, InitiativeOne,Inc. working with Fortune 500 companies’ senior executives on organizational development.
His career includes sales and management experience with companies such as Harris, Unisys and Shell Oil. In addition to working at director levels with these major corporations, Todd has been involved in two technology start-ups, one a OEM and the other a systems integration business.
Todd attended Old Dominion University with a major in marketing in 1973. He lives in Alpharetta, GA with his wife Susan. They are blessed with five children and currently five grandchildren.

After completing his degrees in both Economics and Criminal Justice at Appalachian State University in 1995, Chris was blessed with right opportunity at the right time. Straight of out college, Chris, as Co-Founder, opened the Atlanta office for World Micro Components, Inc. in the winter of 1995. With training in economics and a passion for sales since his childhood, Chris was well prepared to start, develop, and grow the sales and operations of World Micro through the first fourteen years of operation.
During his 14 years with World Micro, Chris has personally overseen all aspects of the business including sales, purchasing, warehouse maintenance, software development, IT support, and the hiring/training/managing of employees. The success of World Micro has been a direct result of his leadership and passion to succeed. Chris is still directly involved in the Operations, Strategic Planning of the company, and serves as the east coast regional sales manager, all of which enable World Micro to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.
Chris and his wife Brooke enjoy the company of their two sons Hayden and Zachary, and look forward to the arrival of their third in May of 2010. |
