In 1995 World Micro, Inc., an electronics distributor, was started by two brothers living in two states and working multiple jobs. In the first two years they were successful in laying a strong foundation that enabled a growth rate averaging thirty percent a year over the next 14 years. World Micro now has over seventy employees and continues to expand from a regionally focused distributor, to a valued supplier to many of the largest manufacturers in the world. Financially the company is very strong enjoying a tremendous cash and credit position, and is debt free.

After attending Western Carolina University in the early 1990's, Dan moved to Clearwater, Florida to start a career in the brokerage business. During the next decade, he spent many years working with Raymond James & Associates as an Investment Advisor. Dan was responsible for the active management of assets, diversification classes, establishment of new accounts and the development of prospecting tools.
While in the brokerage business, he learned many of the skills and disciplines that help him lead a team of people today.
In 1995, he founded World Micro and the business was subsequently moved from Florida to Georgia. Dan has provided clear leadership as President & CEO and directly manages all financial aspects of the business. In addition to legal, regulatory, and accounting, Dan also oversees the trading and management of all excess materials. In 2010, Dan was elected to the Board of Directors of the Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA).
Dan resides in Atlanta and has been happily married for 9 years to his wife, Terri and they have two children.

Teri McAlpin is a CPA with over 20 years of working with sales and operations in growing companies. She has been part of the management team of OEM’s since 1999 and has extensive experience with inventory, manufacturing operations, purchasing, and sales.
During her career she has been part of management teams at public and private companies, including a subsidiary of Steelcase, and a private equity owned manufacturer headquartered in the UK.
Her experience includes improving operations, profit and cash flow by helping people understand how their actions affect the financial results and how we can improve the customers’ experiences.
Teri is an alumnus of Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting. She and her husband, Doug, live in Cumming and have two children.

Vikki brings over 30 years of varied management and sales experience in electronic distribution to her current role as World Micro’s director of sales. With a particular focus on electronics industries in the southeastern United States, Vikki has held key sales management positions with Arrow Electronics, Future Electronics, and Newark Electronics, among other suppliers and distributors.
Throughout her career, she has managed sales, product management, and operations teams. With her prior high-profile functions in sales and distribution organizations, she possesses the experience and skill to effectively lead World Micro’s professional sales and marketing teams.
One of her primary roles is to ensure that the company’s varied and extensive customer base is provided with valued solutions to otherwise difficult-to-solve supply chain issues. She is also responsible for training and growth opportunities for the company’s sales team.
Ms. Planche graduated from North Carolina State University in 1980, with a Bachelor of Science degree in textile management.
Vikki has four stepchildren and two grandchildren. She and her husband, Jim, have been married for 20 years, and reside in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
